Our annual program recognizing the country’s top future projects launches on July 1, with submissions due September 16.
The 2021 Canadian Architect Awards of Excellence competition opens for entries on July 1, 2021.
For 54 years, the magazine’s national awards have recognized design excellence in future projects. This is also the 4th year of our Photo Awards of Excellence, marking the best recent photographs of Canadian buildings. This year’s deadline for submissions to both programs is Thursday, September 16, 2021.
Projects entered into the Awards of Excellence must be either (a) in the design stage, (b) scheduled for construction, or (c) under construction but not substantially complete by September 16, 2021. All projects must be commissioned by a client with the intention to build the submitted proposal. All building types and concisely presented urban design schemes are eligible.

This year’s competition also includes the Canadian Architect Photo Awards of Excellence. The awards recognize the best images of Canadian buildings, taken in the past two years. The Photo Awards are open to professional and amateur photographers.”
