12H à 13H _ Lunch & Learn sur « Designing Healthy Work Environments » (en anglais) présenté par Humanscale

Designing Healthy Work Environments
Gain valuable guidance on designing healthy work environments in this session exploring the challenges of—and solutions to—balancing aesthetics with workstation functionality. This course explores ergonomic concerns in the office environment, and offers valuable insight on bridging the gap between design and function. Topics include an overview of common musculoskeletal problems facing today’s intensive computer users, key research developments in the areas of seating, input device design, display technology, lighting, and employee-level training. Participants will learn how ergonomic principles are applied to the design of computer workstations to reduce employee discomfort and risk of injury while lowering employer costs.

Stand Up for Comfort
In this session we will explore key research findings on the benefits of sit-to-stand workstations and offer guidance on how best to integrate postural variation into any work environment. Common questions such as ‘How frequently should one stand throughout the day and for how long?’, ‘How much adjustability is required?’, and ‘What are the health implications associated with prolonged standing?’ will be answered. Research on potential health outcomes, productivity gains and cost savings will also be shared.

13H à 16H _ Formation sur le code national du bâtiment : Solutions pour la conception de la compartimentation – Présenté par André Gobeil, architecte MOAQ

À la fin de la formation, les participants seront en mesure de :

• Comprendre les objectifs de la réglementation pour les moyens d’évacuation;
• Saisir les distinctions importantes entre les parties 3 et 9 du Code spécialement pour les logements;
• Vous familiariser avec un cheminement d’analyse;
• Vous familiariser surtout avec les articles de la partie 3 du Code concernant les moyens d’évacuation et connaitre les particularités de la partie 9 pour les logements.

Déterminer sur un plan et pouvoir identifier :

• Les issues;
• Les distances de parcours à l’issue;
• Le nombre de portes requises pour les différentes pièces d’une aire de plancher.

Cette conférence abordera le thème de la propriété intellectuelle touchant plus particulièrement les designers d’intérieurs. Qu’est-ce que la propriété intellectuelle ? Quand et comment la protéger?

Le droit d’auteur, le dessin industriel et les marques de commerce seront abordés.
