“Rami Bebawi and Tudor Radulescu, Guest speakers at Design Diplomacy, Architectural Symposium and Small Talks of DESIGNMARCH from March 15th-18th, 2018.
DesignMarch, Iceland’s most important annual design festival is celebrating it’s 10th anniversary this year. It will be the largest and most significant yet, with an expected 100 or so events that will transform the most northerly capital in the world into one big venue for design. From fashion to furniture, architecture to food design, the festival showcases the best of the local design scene alongside exciting international names, opening with DesignTalks, a day of lectures by internationally acclaimed designers and the foremost local design thinkers.
Design Diplomacy will be part of DesignMarch for the second time. First introduced to the programme in 2017, this concept – borrowed from Helsinki Design Week – is a novelty take on a discussion event, where ambassadors open the door to their residences and invite us for an evening of design-centred talks and a canape party.
Architects Rami Bebawi (CA) from Kanva and Borghildur Sturludóttir (IS) have been invited by the Canadian Ambassador Anne-Tamara Lorre to her residence for a design-centered talk followed by a canapé party.
Architectural Symposium: Current thoughts, projects and stimuli, organized by the Architecture Association on Iceland, Association of Architecture firms, The Iceland Academy of the Arts, Iceland Design Centre and Federation of Icelandic Industries invite to a morning meditation three renowned architects: Architects Rami Bebawi, Rahel Belatchew and Reiulf Ramstad.
Small Talks: Building the Future / Designin the Future, organized by the Arion Bank and focusing on what the future will be like in housing and infrastructures with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility and sustainability. Guest speakers Halldór Hardarson Andreas Martin-Löf / Snabba hus, Kaave Pour / SPACE10, Rami Bebawi / KANVA will be opening a dialogue path at the Bank’s headquarters.”
