Selon nos habitudes, un apéro suivra la dernière présentation; façon amicale de clôturer les activités de l’année et de réseauter un brin. Nous remercions nos commanditaires qui ont accepté de parrainer la finale de la saison: l’Institut canadien de la construction en acier, l’Association Canadienne du Ciment et Cecoboisainsi que l’Université McGill.
Pour cette dernière rencontre, nous vous offrons une structure unique, la patinoire de Richmond – l’anneau olympique – un stade d’hiver moderne avec de longues arches hybrides de bois et d’acier. La rencontre est un 5@7 technique suivi d’un apéro. INSCRIVEZ-VOUS SVP.

The Award winning Richmond Oval has garnered significant international interest since its debut as the long track speed-skating venue at the 2010 Vancouver Olympic Games. The eye-catching interior aesthetic and ground-breaking extensive use of pine-beetle kill timber in the roof structure captured the attention of media, guests, and competitors alike. The 340 ft long span structure is an innovative use of steel and wood which resulted in unique hybrid steel-wood arches. This presentation will explore the constraints and inspirations that resolved into the renowned Richmond Oval, as well as detailing the design and construction process from start to finish.
