“Canada’s largest annual green building event is gearing up for another year, as the Green Building Festival take place from September 9 to 10, 2008 at the Toronto Congress Centre on Dixon Road. The show features high-quality, in-depth programming for building professionals with case studies, product analyses and 100 exhibitors offering ready-to-market green building solutions.
The theme of this year’s Green Building Festival is innovation – cutting-edge ideas, concepts and technologies that are revolutionizing the building industry. Topics on the agenda include: Vancouver’s Olympic village, green homebuilding, geothermal innovation, biomimicry, green building materials, sustainable neighbourhoods, benchmarking, biofilters and international case studies.
“We’re anticipating 500 attendees to the conference, and at least that many more through the trade show” says Festival Manager Jeff Ranson. “The Festival is already Canada’s biggest annual event focused exclusively on green building, and it’s still growing.”
As always, programming will focus on the practical aspects of eco-friendly construction.
“Our goal is to provide delegates with the tools they need to inject some green into their businesses,” Ranson adds. “The Festival is all about market-ready strategies and products that support better, more environmentally intelligent building.”
Admission to the trade show portion of the Festival on September 10th is free. Early bird registration for the Festival Sessions is open until August 1st. There are also a limited number of student passes available.
The Green Building Festival was created in 2005 as the Toronto Regional Green Building Festival by Sustainable Buildings Canada, the Canada Green Building Council Toronto Chapter, Toronto and Region Conservation Authority, and the Canadian Urban Institute. The program is developed by Sustainable Buildings Canada, and the event is managed by the Innovolve Group.”
