“Twenty + Change is an ongoing exhibition series dedicated to profiling emerging designers working in architecture, landscape and urban design. The first edition of Twenty + Change, initiated in 2007, showcased the work of Toronto’s emerging design practices. Based on the success and interest in the first exhibition, the second edition of Twenty + Change is going national, with a Canada-wide call for entries.
Twenty + Change seeks to provide a public forum for young designers who have yet to receive widespread public and media attention for their speculative or completed work. The coordination committee of Twenty + Change would like to extend an invitation to Canadian design practices to submit projects to be considered for inclusion in the exhibition. The exhibition will open in Toronto on June 3, 2009, in conjunction with the City of Toronto’s Festival of Architecture and Design, and is scheduled to travel across Canada. All projects selected for exhibition will also be included in an exhibition catalogue for the opening of the 2009 Twenty+Change exhibition.
Canada has a rich community of young designers who continuously push the limits of their discipline, setting a new agenda for innovation, invention, and social- and physical- environmental quality. By presenting the cumulative products of a new generation of designers, Twenty + Change will foreshadow the near future of Canada’s architecture, landscape, and urban design.”
Deadline for submissions is Friday January 16 2009, 5 pm.
