Annonce – Bogota International Convention Center – "Saucier + Perrotte parmi les firmes retenues pour le concours international"

“As a result of a rigorous evaluation of 91 proposals submitted -individually or jointly- by 119 national and international firms registered in the Competition for the architectural design of the International Convention Centre in Bogotá (CICB), five finalists were selected:

• Diller Scofidio + Renfro (USA) and UdeB (Colombia)
• Saucier Perrote Architectes (Canada)
• Snohetta (USA, Norway) and RIR (Colombia)
• Zaha Hadid Architects (UK) and JMPF (Colombia)
• Bermúdez & Herreros Architects (Colombia and Spain)

Proposals made in Stage I of the competition came from all continents, representing 21 countries and including 4 Pritzker Prize recipients, equivalent to the Nobel Prize of Architecture.

The five firms shortlisted will develop conceptual architectural design proposals, to be presented to the Bogota Chamber of Commerce in July, to help move the Bogota International Convention Center from dream to reality.

The process of evaluation and selection of firms was conducted between April 5th and May 4th . According to the Stage 1 brief, three major evaluation criterion were taken into account: (i) design approach, ideas on sustainability and urban regeneration, (ii) proposed team record and experience, with particular emphasis on the design leaders assigned to the project, and (iii) the relevant and applicable project experience, where issues of iconography, urban regeneration and revitalization of existing contexts were examined.

The President of the CCB, Consuelo Caldas, underlined the fantastic level of response to the request for qualifications and the quality of the firms that submitted proposals.”
