Description de l'emploi
Qui nous recherchons:
We are looking for an experienced Project Architect to provide leadership in architectural design and technical development, from design to construction, for a diverse range of building types for public gatherings.
The preferred candidate has excellent leadership skills and over 10 years of professional experience in architecture. He has a background in project management and the ability to provide effective oversight throughout the project lifecycle.
What your day could consist of:
- Conceptualize and develop design ideas, produce diagrams, digital models, presentation materials and perform production work for projects.
- Participate in design reviews and provide feedback on early-stage design concepts.
- Prepare and present design presentations to clients, communities, and other relevant stakeholders, including public bodies.
- Produce design and construction development documents, models, construction details and drawings in accordance with project specifications, established standards and technical expertise.
- Conduct or support operational and design research to validate design feasibility and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate directly with clients in all phases of the project, act as an intermediary between the client and the design team, and maintain positive working relationships with all external stakeholders.
- Foster ongoing communication and collaboration with project management.
- Support Project Managers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Populous and industry-wide initiatives to influence architectural innovation, project excellence and technical rigor.
- Prepare comprehensive fee proposals including detailed work plans to define scope, resources and timelines for internal teams and consultants.
- Manage the day-to-day activities and deliverables of assigned projects, foster ongoing communication through team meetings, debriefings, and release notes to project teams and consultants.
- Ensure coordination of consultants and schedules and ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
- Conduct site visits as required to monitor progress, quality and compliance with project documents.
Requirements for success:
- Mastery of inventive and creative design thinking, collaborative problem solving, architectural production, spatial and environmental design, narrative development, and delivery of high-quality design solutions.
- Excellent sketching and freehand drawing skills, able to quickly produce impactful sketches in order to effectively communicate and sell design concepts.
- Knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam is preferred, as well as expertise in the Adobe Creative suite including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a team-oriented mindset for effective collaboration.
- Strong autonomy and ability to evolve in a dynamic environment focused on deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects of varying complexity and size.
- Working knowledge of advanced project delivery methods, drafting software and production processes.
- In-depth knowledge of design principles, construction methodologies, and material applications.
- Excellent organizational skills including time management, prioritization and financial management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead meetings and manage agendas ensuring alignment between departmental and executive objectives.
Essential Qualifications:
- Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
- Registered architect with a current license.
- Bilingual French-English
- 10+ years of professional experience in architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in project management enabling and ensuring the alignment of resources, the quality of deliverables and the accuracy of financial management.
Remuneration:
The expected salary range for this opportunity is $95,875 to $117,447.42 CAD per year, and may vary upwards or downwards depending on skills, experience, and level of education.
Additional Details:
Business trips will be necessary.
